Ryuso Experience Process | From Reservation to Return
01. Reservation
Please submit your preferred plan, number of participants, and multiple preferred dates and times via our online reservation form.
If you wish to add hair styling or a professional photographer, you must indicate this at the time of booking.
Full payment by credit card is required in advance to confirm your reservation.
02. Arrival
Please arrive at OKINAWA KIMONO家 at your scheduled reservation time.
If you have difficulty locating the store, please feel free to contact us by phone.
Late arrival may result in a shortened rental period. No partial refunds will be provided.
03. Check-In
The name of the reservation holder will be confirmed at reception.
A valid government-issued photo ID (passport, driver’s license, student ID, etc.) is required for identity verification.
Personal belongings may be stored in lockers provided inside the store.
We are not responsible for loss or theft of personal items.
04. Dressing (Approximately 15 minutes per person)
Our staff will help you get dressed in traditional Ryuso attire.
The total preparation time may vary depending on the number of participants and selected options.
The rental period officially begins once dressing is completed.
05. Departure & Exploration
The rental time is calculated from the time of departure from the store. Travel by car is permitted.
Our store is located in Kitanakagusuku, an area surrounded by historical landmarks, including the UNESCO World Heritage site Nakagusuku Castle Ruins.
Recommended walking routes may be provided by our staff upon request.
Please enjoy your time in traditional Ryuso attire and return by the designated return time.
06. Return
All rental items must be returned to the store by the designated return time.
Late returns will incur additional fees in accordance with our Late Return Policy.
Significant delays without prior notice may result in substantial penalty charges.

For Those Who Wish to Have Photos Taken by a Professional Photographer
At OKINAWA KIMONO家, we partner with professional photographers who specialize in location photography in Okinawa, including Ryuso portraits, family photos, anniversary sessions, and other commemorative shoots.
Why not preserve your Okinawa travel memories, anniversaries, graduations, Coming-of-Age celebrations, family portraits, or photo weddings with beautifully captured images?
If you would like to arrange a photography session, please write “Photographer requested” in the notes section when making your reservation, or contact us in advance via the inquiry form.
Estimated Photography Fees (tax not included)
1 hour: from ¥25,000
2 hours: from ¥35,000
3 hours: from ¥43,000

Photography at Nakamura House
If you use one of our affiliated professional photographers and conduct a location shoot at Nakamura House, the following fees are required per photographer:
Location Photography Fee (per photographer)
Admission fee: ¥500
Location fee: ¥1,000
Total: ¥1,500
The same fees apply if you arrange and bring your own professional photographer.
Cases Considered “Professional Photography”
The following activities are classified as professional photography and require payment of the location fee:

Photography conducted by a professional photographer

Any photography involving compensation

Portfolio or creative project shoots

Commercial use or photography intended for professional social media promotion
Personal Photography
Casual photos taken by family members or friends for personal memories or hobby purposes do not require additional fees.
Final Determination
The final determination regarding photography classification and permission is subject to the regulations of Nakamura House.

The 3-hour plan includes admission to Nakamura House for guests.

When conducting professional photography, the above location fees apply separately.

About Rentals

To provide a private and carefully curated experience, we require a minimum charge of ¥16,500 (tax included) per reservation slot.

What to Wear or Bring on the Day
- For female guests: an inner layer (tank top or camisole)
- For male guests: shorts to wear underneath

If rental items are returned after the designated return time, the following late fees will apply
- Up to 1 hour late: ¥1,100 per outfit (tax included)

If you wish to rent for more than 3 hours, please consult us in advance.

Returns after business hours are not accepted.

If items are returned the following day, an overnight fee of ¥110,000 (tax included) per outfit will be charged.

If you expect to be late due to unavoidable circumstances, please contact us in advance.
With prior notice, we will do our best to accommodate you.
Arrival on the Day of Your Reservation

If you arrive after your scheduled reservation time, your rental duration may be shortened.
No partial refunds will be provided. -
If we are unable to contact you within 15 minutes after your reservation time, your booking will be automatically canceled and a cancellation fee will apply.

If you are running late, please contact us as soon as possible.

As we operate by private appointment, if you arrive before your scheduled time while another guest is being served, you may be asked to wait in your vehicle.
We kindly ask that you arrive at your reserved time.
Other

Reservations may be canceled due to severe weather.
If cancellation becomes necessary, we will contact you by email or phone by 4:00 PM on the day before your reservation.

For safety reasons, guests who are pregnant are kindly asked not to participate.

We are not responsible for loss or theft of personal belongings.

Cancellation Fees

If we receive your request to change or cancel your reservation by 5:00 PM (Japan Standard Time) on the day before your scheduled reservation date, the following fee will apply:
- 50% of the rental fee

If we receive your request after 5:00 PM (JST) on the day before your reservation date and before your scheduled reservation time on the day of your booking, the following fee will apply:
- 100% of the rental fee

Ryuso Dressing & Rental Service
Terms of Service
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern the use of the Ryuso dressing and rental services (the “Service”) provided by OKINAWA KIMONO家 (the “Store”).
By submitting a web reservation, inquiry form, or confirming a booking, you are deemed to have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms.
1. Care of Rental Items
During the rental period, customers agree to handle all Ryuso garments and accessories provided by the Store with due care and responsibility.
2. Return and Late Fees
All rental items must be returned by the designated return date and time.
Late returns will incur additional charges in accordance with the Late Return Policy as outlined in the “Important Information” section.
3. Damage, Staining, or Loss
If any rental items are damaged, stained, or lost during the rental period, the customer may be responsible for repair costs, cleaning fees, or replacement costs as determined by the Store.
4. Photography and Consideration for the Neighborhood
Our studio is located in a quiet residential area. Customers are expected to be respectful of local residents when taking photographs or spending time outside the premises.
5. Limitation of Liability
The Store shall not be held liable for accidents, injuries, theft, or other incidents arising in connection with the use of the Service, except in cases of willful misconduct or gross negligence on the part of the Store.
6. Cancellations and Changes
Cancellations and reservation changes are subject to the separate Cancellation Policy.
7. Applicability
These Terms apply from the moment a web reservation or inquiry is submitted.
